"The more you trust and rely upon the spirit the greater your capacity to create!" - Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf. As I increase my capacity to create, I would like to share what I am learning and how I am growing! I am a "spirit daughter of the most creative being in the universe", so I am learning now that I can create!

Decorated Letters

My little sister just re-decorated her room. Previously her room was really bright greens, pinks, oranges, blues, etc. This time she decided to decorate it Red, Black, and White. I teased her about these colors because those are our High School's colors and she is currently a Varsity Cheerleader for the said school. She wears those colors almost every day....and now she wants to live in them too!! Anyway her and my mom worked on painting and furniture and I got to help with the "bling" of the room! It was tonz of fun coming up with some fun letters (her initials) to help decorate those walls!

I can create: Homemade Christmas Gifts!

Here is what I was up too all November and December. It was fun to try to come up with fun homemade christmas gifts!!!

I am still working on the details of exactly how to do this project....but I used some of my husbands old ties and tied them backwards....and turned them into baby ties! :) Super cheap but I need to iron out a few kinks!! My sister got my experimental ties.....sorry Tiff!!

These little sock monkeys are for my nieces and soon to be nephew! It was so fun to make them...a little challenging but when they cost $2/monkey it is totally worth it!

This nativity is made out of 2x4's!! I used carbon paper to trace on shapes and then painted them!!

This is a block countdown similar to the holiday blocks I posted about earlier! They are just 4x4 cubes with scrapbook paper modgepodged on and then vinyl numbers!

I made these two aprons for my sister-in-laws. I really love the pattern....but I think the fabric choice makes all the difference!!

I am finally feeling like life is back to normal after our month long vacation....so now it is back to the creating!!! I can't wait to come up with some new projects!! I'll keep you posted on what I am working on!!

Someone featured my recipe?

So I was just blog surfing the other day - getting lost in the links - and clicked on one of my new favorite blogs :Envy My Cooking. I was scrolling down, checking over the posts I had missed over the past few days - and I came across a recipe, that looked familiar, sounded yummy, and said "posted by: Tennille C". At first I was amazed that someone spelled their name exactly like me...........and then I realized "That is me!" So here is the link - (click here). I think the recipe was given as an extra entry for a giveaway...........that I definately didn't win......because I never do......but at least it boosted my confidence!! Make the cake too - it is pretty dang good!

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year....

I am having the toughest time getting into the Holiday Season this year. I think mostly it is due to the fact that I have never not had a “White Christmas” and I enjoy the nippy fall weather…..and lately I am playing tennis outside and sweating at 8:00 in the morning. Florida is a little Strange that way! There have only been a few things that have sparked a little light inside of me – 1)Christmas Crafts and 2) Sending out Christmas Cards.

You all know how much I love crafting so that one makes sense…but why be so excited about Christmas Cards? Well let me tell you why – This year I actually feel like we are doing something different and worth hearing about! J Plus I love getting mounds of mail at the end of the year full of cards telling me how blessed everyone has been over the past year – of just to see how people have changed over the past year! Growing up there were certain families that we looked forward to getting their card every year (I don’t remember if it was because of their amazingly good looking sons – or another reason J!) Especially being so far away from our friends and family, it is comforting knowing that those bonds will stay strong because we are Christmas Card buddies!

Usually I order Christmas Cards from Walmart, because they are the cheapest. They haven’t gotten new patterns in a few years….and I don’t want to repeat any of my favorite ones so I went looking somewhere else this year! This year we will be using Shutterfly. I found this company through a link on someone else’s blog and was pleasantly surprised. I am a huge fan of the designs with the bright colors and the ones with brown, light blue, and red........I really really love them both!

I am actually having a hard time choosing what card I want to pick but this is definitely a favorite (click here). I love the idea of sending "Warm Holiday Wishes"....from Florida! :) I also love this design (click here). And maybe if our pictures turn out extra good this year, I will choose this one (click here).

If I get ambitious then I will definitely be doing these calendars in the future: http://www.shutterfly.com/calendars

And love that you can get high quality pictures through them in an hour!

Seriously check them out!

(Which is a huge blessing for us because on a tight budget...Christmas Cards were maybe not going to happen!)

Covered Baby Burp Cloths!

My little guy had acid reflux really bad when he was little, we used burp blankets instead of burp cloths! We pretty much covered the couch with blankets at all times and then switched them out when they would get spit up on. Unfortunately we didn't always have an unlimited supply of blankets handy everywhere we went so sometimes we had to use burp cloths. We found that the best burp cloths, in categories of absorption and usefulness, were cloth diapers! I have never used cloth diapers for their intended purpose but it only makes sense that they absorb really well! Now since we live in a society where everything has to be amazingly cute - covering these in cute flannel and adding embellishments is a must! :) Plus they make a super cheap baby gift! (A pack of 6 is like 6 bucks at Walmart.) I also have been making my own bibs (I will show those in a later post)!
